The University of Toronto
University of Toronto (UofT) is world-renown public research university and Canada’s largest post-secondary institution, home to nearly 100,000 students across its three Ontario campuses. Founded in 1827, the University of Toronto hosts 700 undergraduate and 200 graduate programs and was most recently named the 21st best university in the world by Times Higher Education.
Known for its innovation and groundbreaking research, the University of Toronto has been the birthplace of several key scientific advancements of the past century. Notably, the discovery of insulin, the invention of the electron microscope and the discovery of stem cell research occurred at the University of Toronto. The first ever artificial pacemaker and breathalyzer were invented at the University of Toronto. Furthermore, UofT has been at the forefront in advancements made in mathematics, computer science and artificial intelligence.
In addition to advancements in medicine and the physical sciences, the University of Toronto is also widely recognized for its significant contributions in the humanities and social sciences. UofT is well known for its commitment to social history and recordkeeping, home to some of the most extensive research archives such as Robarts Library and the Thomas Fisher Rare Book Library. Several prominent Canadian and international figures attended the University of Toronto, including 14 Supreme Court of Canada justices and four Canadian Prime Ministers.

VENUE SPACES
University College (UC)
University College is situated in the center of the UofT St. George campus, next to King’s College Circle and across from Convocation Hall (CH) and the Medical Sciences Building (MS).
University College is UofT’s oldest building and home to several interdisciplinary academic programs, such as Canadian Studies, Health Studies and Cognitive Science. UTMUN is proud to host its ECOSOC, regional body and crisis committees in UC.
Hart House (HH)
Hart House is located next to University College and is a dedicated activity center for University of Toronto and local community programming. Known for its gothic influences in architecture, UTMUN’s crisis and ECOSOC committees are often hosted here as well.
Delegate pre-conference activities and conference registration are often hosted at Hart House.
Sidney Smith Hall (SS)
Sidney Smith Hall is home to UofT’s largest faculty, the Faculty of Arts & Science, housing classrooms, labs, and offices. It is also home to the Sidney Smith Commons, an open study space and resource center for students, as well as Sid’s Cafe.
UTMUN often hosts its largest General Assemblies, ECOSOC and Specialized Agencies at Sidney Smith Hall.
Bahen Centre for Information Technology (BA)
The Bahen Centre is the hub for UofT’s Faculty of Applied Science and Engineering, as well as the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Mathematics. It is home to several labs and offices of UofT’s foremost innovators and researchers.
General Assemblies and Specialized Agencies are often held at the Bahen Centre.
