BEYOND THE SCREEN:
THE GAMER’S LEAGUE IN ORGANIZATION, REGULATION AND YIELD
The world’s most popular MMORPG, GLORY, is preparing to host its first-ever international championship: GLORY Worlds. With millions watching and the legitimacy of esports as a professional industry at stake, Worlds represents a historic step, not only for GLORY, but competitive gaming at large. Yet, excitement masks many looming challenges.
Inspired by The King’s Avatar while expanding on core themes, this committee blends narrative with reality. Delegates will step into the roles of professional players, club executives, developers, sponsors, and industry regulators, tasked with ensuring GLORY Worlds is both a spectacle and a success. From questions of financing and sustainability, and profitability against integrity, to logistical challenges with international law and game-balance disputes that threaten core competitive legitimacy, every decision will shape the future of GLORY, and the industry.
But esports is not a pristine industry. Behind the glamour of arenas and cinematics lie subtler forces: the pressures on players whose careers end too soon, the outsized influence of corporate-sponsored money, and the compromises made in pursuit of global prestige. Delegates must confront these realities head-on as they define what a fair and sustainable future for esports can—and should—look like. So stand on the world stage, and forge GLORY.
